Michelangelo Buonarroti was a great painter during the Renaissance period . He made many monumental works of painting, architecture, and sculpture. He also wrote numerous letters and poems . He contributed many great works to the world.

Michelangelo was born on the sixth of March in 1475 in Caprese, Italy. He was not very proud of his father's job, but his parents never aproved of him being a painter . He became a painter and turned down the nobility of his father.

Michelangelo was a devout Christian and therefore, most of his greatest works were done for the church .
