Leonardo da Vinci ( 1452-1519) was a great  painter during the Renaissance period . He was also a sculptor, architect, musician, engineer, inventor, and scientist. He is most likely the epitome of the RENAISSANCE man.

Da Vinci made incredible headway in the area of science. He sketched out many amazing designs for working machines and technology . He invented The Flying Machines and Ornithopter.

Da Vinci developed a new painting style . His skills of observation enabled him to notice and recreate the effects he saw in nature, and with it he added a special realism to his paintings.
He used dark backgrounds instead of white backgrounds to bring out a three-dimensional effect in the chief object.

His masterpieces include  'The Mona Lisa'  and  'The Last Supper'...
